We had a happy 4th

Yesterday we went to the parade downtown with some friends and had a great time. We didn't last the entire time, but Bear and Blondie had a great time watching the fire trucks and old cars go by.
Practicing to be a flag carrier one day:
Then that evening we went to a baseball game. We sat out in the outfield, and Bear spent the entire time running around making friends, and I spent the entire time watching him and making sure he didn't get kidnapped. We got there about an hour early so he entertained himself by running up and down the hill. This is right before he biffed it:

After 27 years of having no idea what I wanted to be when I "grew up" I finally know. I can't do it now. I have to wait another 18-19 years to do it. But I am so excited. I am going to be a crab fisherman. I will start out as a deck hand of course but then one day, I will own my own boat and be a captain.
I love the show Deadliest Catch. I get so excited watching it. Being out to sea, fighting the weather, taking on huge waves, getting no sleep, I want to do it now! Seriously, I want to do this. Now I haven't seen any women working on deck, but I am sure I could show them I am just as tough as them.
I am so happy! I am going to be a crab fisher!

The thunderstorms started last night after he went to bed, so I didn't have to try to explain what the loud booming in the sky was to a 2 year old until this afternoon. He woke up from his nap asking, "what is that mommy?"

"It is thunder baby."

"It's funder? It's fuuuuunder! Okay mommy."

He has talked about nothing else for the past hour. Thunder will boom, and he from across the house will yell, "What is that?"

"It's still thunder Bear."

"Still funder? Okay."

He consoled Tela for about 10 minutes, who had shown no interest whatsoever in the thunder.
"It's okay Teea. It's still funder. It's okay."

He spent about 5 minutes searching the house for something. Under couches, behind doors, lifting pillows, opening cabinets.

"What are you looking for Bear?"

"Funder mommy. Where is funder?"

"It's in the sky Bear."

"Funder in the sky? Okay."

"Funder in the sky!"

"I see funder?"

"No honey you can't see thunder. It is for your ears not your eyes."

Thunder booms "What is that?"

"It is still thunder Bear."

"Okay mommy. Thank you."

He keeps me laughing with his interpretations

He calls the lanolin cream "boo boo butter" (please refer to earlier post Butt butter for full story)
and he calls the breast pads "boo boo diapers."
