Bears second birthday

Better late than never right?

We celebrated Bears second birthday on the 31st so that daddy could be there for it. We went to the park and our wonderful family and friends surrounded us to help us celebrate this wonderful little boy.

Catch up

Well I have a few minutes. She is in a milk induced coma and he is playing with cars, oblivious to the world around him.

On June 2nd, at 5:30 I called the hospital to make sure we could still come in for the C section. (For those who don't know, I had to have a C section because Bear was born by one and this hospital doesn't do VBAC's.) So we got to the hospital at 6:00 and things moved very slowly from there. Or they felt like they did. A million people came in to brief us on the mornings events. My Dr. (dear old loony man) finally showed up at 7:45(we were supposed to start at 7:30) and we got the show on the road. Once they got the spinal administered, things moved very quickly. I looked up and Daddy was walking in the OR with the video camera rolling and next thing I know, she was born. He actually got to video the whole thing. I was very surprised. I have not been able to watch it yet. But my whole family has. That was great. Lets all sit down for popcorn and a movie of the inside of my body on the big screen!

Things have been good the last few days. Daddy got to stay a few extra days because of some problems we were having with her, so he left on Wed morning.

Bear is just smitten with her. He wants to help with EVERYTHING. He becomes concerned when she latches on and I give out a tiny shriek because it hurts.
"Baby bite mommy?"
"No honey, she doesn't have teeth yet."
That's another thing. He is just realizing that this is the baby that was in mommy. Until a couple days ago, she was just "baby" and my tummy was still baby sister. At the hospital my family wanted a picture of them together. "Go kiss Lady bug!" Instead of running to her, he ran to my belly and tried to kiss it. It was very sweet. Then he walked up to her and grabbed her hand and said, "baby, high five!" and gave her a high five. I guess in his book that means she is ok.

Every time she hollers, she doesn't cry, everything stops in this house. Bear comes running and Tela, the mommy dog, comes running. This little girl is going to have those two wrapped around her finger.
She is so beautiful. She came out looking like Bear with a dark wig on. It tripped me out. If we had kept her in another week she would of been well over 10lbs, but I have a hard time seeing that. She is so dainty and tiny looking to me. If they told me she was only 6 lbs I would believe them. She is the exact opposite of how he was. He came out with huge everything. Huge palms and feet and fat arms and legs. She is so skinny and has the daintiest little palms with long slender fingers, and perfect little skinny long feet with really long finger toes. Sorry baby, you got those from me. Her arms and legs are so skinny too. I got my dainty little girl. I was so afraid that she was going to come out like Bear. A gargantuan. I really didn't want to have that huge 6'6'' manly daughter that could kick her brothers butt. I would of loved her, but I am relieved that she is not manly. :) Here are a couple pictures from the last week.
