Because I think it still might be against the law to strike an officer, I am just going to vent on here. I was at the front desk trying to get a room key because in my attempt us out of the hotel room, I forgot my key. Of course I did not remember this until I was around the building from the front desk and already had kids out of carseats. So I hiked to the front desk in 90 degree heat, carrying a very squirmy 4 month old, two heavy grocery bags and prompting a two year old to use his big boy strides and walk faster than .025 miles per hour while he took in every butterfly and bug that he saw along the way. So needless to say I was not in the best of moods while I waited in line. I finally get up to the desk and the man is helping me, and a woman next to me was checking in. This jerk of a LT comes out of no where and pushes me to the side and pushes Bear up against the desk so he can snatch at a peice of paper the front desk lady was holding. I pushed back and said, "excuse me sir." It is that kind of attitude that I hate. The I am better than you because I am wearing khakis and have a big fat emblem on my hat and bars on my shirt collar. I bit my tongue to stop and clentched my fists to keep myself from getting arrested and having my children sent to foster care for the night. Man I am pissed. I have a good mind to walk back out there and find that A-hole and give him a piece of my mind....
Went to Sea World the other day (I will post pics later) and Bear insists now that he went and saw "Shampoo" the whale. No matter how many times mommy corrects him, he tells everyone that he went and saw "Shampoo."
Some of the newest ones coming out of his mouth:"Liberals want more taxes!""Barrack Obama is a loser!" (Which comes out woooser!)"John Mccain for president!"When you are near a TV: "turn on Fox news" My California family must of taught him this the last few days..."I am a conservative."So proud of him...
Great Cuts is having 4.99 haircuts right now so we went to get Bear a trim, but we walked away with so much more. We learned some tough life lessons. The one that every child learns eventually is that helium is lighter than air, and when mommy says to keep that baloon tied around your wrist or the baloon will fly away, she means it. We made it all the way through Safeway with it, but as soon as we got out into the parking lot, he lost it. And as it was flying away, I told him I was sorry and then he melted my heart with his assuming that I could do anything. "Mommy please get my balloon!" "Honey, I can't." "Mommy, yes you can! Please go up in the sky and get my balloon!" The second lesson we learned is that two year old heads do not fit through the backs of the chairs at Great Clips. We had about a 20 minute wait and he got restless and stuck his feet down the back of the chair until he was up to his waist. And then he realized he was stuck. After 10 minutes of crying and 4 grown men trying to manuever his body out, he was free. Five minutes later, he was trying it again. And on a side note my son has a excellent memory. Two weeks ago I was going to someone house and I was not happy with the unprofessional manner in which I was being treated. He asked me where we were going and under my breath I said. "I am going to kick some butt and take some names." That was all I ever said about it and had forgotten about it until tonight, all we did was pull on to her street and he said very enthusiastically said, "Mommy, you going to kick some butt and take some names?"
My first Photoshop creation!
This day 7 years ago I grew up. I joined the Navy to get away from home(and ended up getting stationed back home for 6 years). I had pride in my country, but not as much as I should have, or near the amount that I have now. I was a young spoiled punk kid that took everything for granted. In June of that same year, I got to my first ship. On September 11, the safe little world that I lived in, just like so many others, came crashing down around me. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I remember the faces, I can remember the smells, I remember the terror. We were on the mess decks eating breakfast when it grew silent and all eyes went to the TV 's as we watched a plane fly into a building that was standing next to another that already had a plane in it. We watched those towers fall. And then the words over the 1MC. "Make preperations to get underway." There were 3 ships inport that were able to get U/W. There were 3 places to guard, Seattle, Bremerton and the subs at Bangor. We didnt know where we were going yet, just that we had to leave. Once, I found out where we were going, I called my parents and I told my mom, "I am not going to be home tonight. I can't tell you where we are going, but I am safe." We went to Bangor and stayed there for 3 days. Driving circles, with orders to shoot down anything that flew within 13nm of the base. No questions asked. I had never been so scared before. We had no idea what was happening. We didn't know what city would be next. One night while I was on watch, after all the planes had been grounded, we had an air contact, and the OOD hesitated for a second on an order from the CO, and in the blackness of the bridge, I remember him screaming, "We are in an F****** war here!" The powers that be, said that we could come back home. I remember the feeling of patriotism just oozing out of everyone I passed on the streets. I remember people standing at freeway over-passes with flags draped over just waving at cars. We were united. And today it makes me so sad that people have forgotten that feeling of pride in their country. That willingness to do anything to protect this land. The majority now want to give up on a war that is almost won, surely sending a message of defeat to our enemies. That is not what this country was built on. That is not how we became a free country. I am so blasted proud of every single one of those men and women that are fighting for our country. Whether it be over in the Middle East or on a boat somewhere in the Ocean. Thank you. Thank you for your sacrafices you make every day to protect us. To keep the war off of our own land. Thank you Johnathan, My Maria, J., Scott, Alex, and thank you to all of the spouses that are at home supporting them.
